About the sheikh Shaykh Mishary Rashid Ghareeb Mohammed Rashid Al-Afasy is a Kuwaiti national and was born in 1976. He is married , has two daughters, and he is also nicknamed (Abu Norah).
He studies at The Islamic University in Medina(KSA), College of the Holy Quran and Islamic Studies and specialized in The ten readings and translation of the holy quran. He has read the quran to Sheikh Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Zaiat born in 1325(H) in the year 1907. Read the whole quran to him Hafs-from-A'sim from Al-Shatebeya, and Sheikh Abraham Ali Shahata Al-Samanodei born in 1333(H)in the year 1915 and who read to him Sheikh Al-Hosiery and Sheikh Mohammad Sadiq Al-Menshawy and Sheikh Mustafa Ishmael and Sheikh Abdulbaset Abduls mad, and he reads to him Fatehat al Kitab and he accepted it, an oral acceptance following the acceptance of his student Sheikh Abulrafea Redwan, and he also read to Sheikh Abdurarea Radwan born in 1351(H)in the year 1932 read to him the whole quran Asm-bin-abialnojoud from Al-Shatebya.
About Abdul Rahman Al-sudais
Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais [Arabic: عبد الرحمن السديس] is the Grand Imam of the Masjid al Haram in Makkah in Saudi Arabia. He is known world wide primarily for his beautiful recitation of the Qur'an (which he memorized at the age of 12). Imam Sudais was born in 1961 and is a doctor by profession. He comes from the Anza clan, his lineage is ABU ABDUL AZIZ Ibn ABDUL AZIZ bin ABDULLAH, bin ABDUL AZIZ bin MUHAMMAD bin ABDULLAH. He is renowned for his good character and simplicity. He also leads the Taraweeh Prayers during Ramadan (with the other Imams including Sheikh Saud Al-Shuraim).
Sheikh Sudais grew up in Riyadh and attended the Al Mathna Bin Hartha elementry school and also the Scientific Academy of Riyadh - he is one of the most famous students from there. He graduated from the Scientific Academy in 1399 with a grading EXCELLENT and then went on to the Al Sharia College. He obtained a degree in Sharia from Riyadh University in 1983 and became an IFK (Islamic Fundemental Knowledge) lecturer after the conclusion of his study. He obtained his masters in Islamic fundamentals from the Sharia College of Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University in 1987 and received his PhD in Islamic Sharia from Umma Al Qura Universiy in 1995 while working there as an assistant professer after serving at Riyadh University.
He was also taught the quran by Sheikh Muhammed Abdul Majid Zakir and also various others including Al Sheikh Muhammed Ali Hassan.
After this he became Imam and Khateeb of a mosque in Riyadh called Masjid Al Sheikh Al Allama Abdur Razzaq Al Afifi. At the same time he started teaching in the Academy of Imam Al Dawa Al Almy in 1404 and which time he was also appointed the Imam and Khateeb of Masjidal Haram in Mecca Mukarrama. He started his Imamat in Mecca on the 22/08/1404 leading the Asr salat, and his first Khutba to the people was on the 15/09/1404 which was in ramadhan.
In 2005 Al-Sudais was named by the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) Organising Committee as its 9th annual "Islamic Personality Of the Year" in recognition for his devotion to the Quran and Islam. When accepting his award in Dubai, he said: "The message of Islam and Muslims is modesty, fairness, security, stability, sympathy, harmony and kindness."
